SesshouGawara

SesshouGawara means "Life Killing Riverbed" in English. Hydrogen sulfide gas is constantly coming up by volcanic activity. You can find natural sulfur that volcanic gas is reacted (hydrogen sulfide + sulfur dioxide) and cooled down. 

When the gas concentration becomes dangerously high for human,  siren will blare to warn you. It is very dangerous so be careful when you visit. （2017年9月）

殺生河原

 

火山活動が激しく、硫化水素ガスが発生しています。濃度が高くなるとサイレンが鳴ります。付近には自然硫黄が転がっています。危険な場所ですので気を付けましょう。（2017年9月）

(追記）​​湯釜から西に約3kmに位置する本白根山が2018年1月23日、3,000年ぶりに噴火しました。（2018年1月）
